This garden was inaccessible
as a large drop of over two metres divided
the garden in half.
An extension had
recently been added to the house and the
garden had become a dumping ground.
The challenge here was to find a way of
overcoming the slope and reclaiming the
garden as a welcoming space.
The garden
needed to look good when viewed from several
different levels.
We used a series of shallow steps,
rather than one steep set, to provide access
to the garden. The winding path leads to
several different seating areas and
viewpoints.
The garden is now a
useable space that compliments the house and
its surroundings. |
